The "Civita" Archaeological and Natural Park in Cupra Marittima preserves the remains of the ancient Roman city of Cupra, a site that tells over two thousand years of history.
Walking among centuries-old olive trees and natural trails, you can admire the remains of the Roman Forum—with temple structures and travertine bases—the evocative Roman walls, and the Church of San Basso, an ancient sacred building dating back to the 9th century.
The area, nestled in a charming natural landscape, offers a perfect blend of archaeology, nature, and spirituality.
The tour also includes the remains of the Nymphaeum, part of a luxurious Roman villa with frescoes still visible today.

Civita Archaeological Park

• May 31 to June 15: Saturdays and Sundays

• June 2: open (same hours as above)

• June 20 to 29: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM

• July 1 to September 14: Tuesday to Sunday, 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM

• September 20 to October 26: Saturdays and Sundays, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Nymphaeum

• June 2, 20, 27 / all Fridays in July / all Thursdays in August: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

• The Nymphaeum follows the park's opening times during the periods listed above.

Fees

• Free admission for self-guided visits

  • Tickets available on site at the Civita Archaeological and Natural Park (for both the Park and the Nymphaeum)

• Guided tours (40/50 minutes)

  • Available daily at 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM

  • Cost: €4.00 (purchase at the Park)

  • Includes both the Civita Archaeological Park and the Nymphaeum

Special Events: Teatro al Parco Festival

  On the occasion of the Teatro al Parco Festival (see flyer), five special evenings with theatrical performances:

Dates: June 20 and 27 / July 4, 11, 18

• On these evenings, it will be possible to enjoy a free guided tour with an operator:

  • Starts at 6:30 PM from the Nymphaeum

  • Followed by a visit to the Civita Archaeological Park

  • Evening performance at 9:15 PM – Ticket: €10 (free for children under 12)

• Free shuttle from 8:30 PM – Piazza della Libertà
