Altino

At the foot of the Vettore mountain (1080 mt.), in the green heart of the national park of Sibillini Mountains, stands the village of Altino, the solitary and silent town centre belonging to the territory of Montemonaco. The centre is very small and shrouded in a magic atmosphere, out of time; in fact it is characterized by a tiny and suggestive church and some peculiar houses of stone, at present deserted, since people left the place to move to the valley looking for job, according to the process of urbanization, that involved the country several century ago.
