Roccafluvione

The name of this nice town - Roccafluvione - comes from the torrent Fluvione, that flows through the place. A funny attraction of Montefluvione is the old bridge “Ponte Nativo” on the Fluvione river, which stands on two huge rocks, fitted together in order to support each other. In the hamlet of Marsia, where the town hall is situated, it is very interesting to visit the Romanesque church of Santo Stefano, dedicated to the patron saint of the town, with its suggestive crypt with three aisles.Meschia, hamlet situated in the centre of an area of great landscape value, looks like a village out of time, presenting seventeenth-century houses standing on the living rock. The urban centre, well-preserved and highly picturesque, lies on the top of a rock spur that hangs rashly over a valley.
